Our client is an award-winning communications firm known for building strategic public relations, original content marketing and social media programs for some of with the world’s most innovative, fast-growth technology companies around. They are hiring a Vice President to run some of their consumer accounts in the New York office.
For this specific position as VP, we’re specifically looking for someone who has experience working with early to mid-stage direct-to-consumer startups.. The Vice President is an experienced storyteller, strategist and program leader. You should have experience imaging what’s possible for a company and translating these ideas into strategic communications initiatives that build awareness and drive results. The right candidate for this position is fluent in the fundamentals of public relations and is also an experienced client relations manager with a track record of building lasting, strategic business partnerships.
In addition to program leadership, the Vice President prospects and generates new business that aligns with the agency’s mission and potential. You understand how their work helps companies and when their services are needed most. This position is part of the senior team and takes responsibility for leading and growing the company. Role Requirements:
  • 10+ years of communications, public relations, marketing and/or startup experience; consumer lifestyle brand experience required; startup experience preferred
  • Leadership experience including growing an agency, practice area or successful client portfolio
  • Create and develop brand messaging and positioning for new companies, products and/or services 
  • Proven track record generating new, strategic ideas and opportunities to expand client base/services beyond traditional public relations AND the ability and desire to lead these ideas from conception to results
  • Experience leading and growing a multidisciplinary team with an established approach to day-to-day coaching and long-term talent growth and development
  • Extensive targeted media relations experience across multiple industries, including niche technology industry expertise and ongoing, active reporter relationships
  • Proficient editor and writer who teaches original writing across teams
  • Established perspective on industry, right work and talent
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, insatiable curiosity and an established track record of hard work and dedication to results
