The Opportunity

Account Director of Consumer Public Relations on behalf of one of our longtime agency clients.

This individual will help lead one of the agency’s largest and most established consumer accounts, supporting communications for a widely recognized national brand. The Account Director will serve as a senior day-to-day client partner, guide integrated communications programs and oversee the account team’s work from strategy through execution.

The role requires someone who can confidently navigate a complex client organization with multiple stakeholders, identify a clear path forward and keep teams aligned around shared priorities. The successful candidate will be strategic and polished with clients while remaining close enough to the work to ensure programs are creative, well executed and connected to meaningful business results.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Serve as a senior day-to-day leader for a major national consumer account.
  • Build trusted relationships with client contacts across multiple teams and levels.
  • Provide strategic counsel and translate complex business needs into clear communications plans.
  • Bring together differing stakeholder perspectives and help establish a cohesive direction.
  • Lead the development and execution of data-informed, integrated consumer campaigns.
  • Guide programs across earned media, social media, influencer marketing and other consumer engagement channels.
  • Ensure campaigns reflect current cultural, consumer and media trends.
  • Oversee account planning, budgets, timelines, staffing and deliverables.
  • Identify potential account challenges and address them proactively.
  • Prepare and lead client presentations, planning sessions and campaign updates.
  • Collaborate with creative, digital, research and other communications specialists.
  • Manage, mentor and develop account team members.
  • Establish clear expectations and maintain high standards for both strategy and execution.
  • Support organic account growth by identifying additional ways the agency can help the client.
  • Participate in new business and broader agency initiatives as appropriate.
  • Travel for important client meetings, conferences and major brand moments.

What You Bring

  • Approximately eight or more years of progressive public relations or integrated communications experience.
  • Meaningful experience working within a PR or communications agency.
  • A strong background managing consumer brands and integrated communications programs.
  • Experience leading large or complex accounts with multiple decision-makers.
  • Excellent client counseling, presentation and relationship-management skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with an understanding of hands-on campaign execution.
  • Experience across earned media, social media and influencer marketing.
  • The ability to use research, audience insights and performance data to inform communications strategy.
  • Strong project-management and budget-management skills.
  • Experience managing and mentoring account teams.
  • The judgment and confidence to provide clients with honest, constructive counsel.
  • Knowledge of the New England media and consumer landscape.
  • The ability to work from the Boston office three days per week and travel as needed.

Experience in quick-service restaurants, food and beverage, CPG, retail, travel, hospitality, wellness or consumer technology is highly desirable.

This is an opportunity to take a visible leadership role on a large, established consumer account with meaningful creative possibilities and access to senior client stakeholders.

The agency offers the resources and capabilities of a broad communications network while maintaining a collaborative, entrepreneurial and people-focused culture. Employees are encouraged to bring forward ideas, give clients honest advice and actively shape their own professional growth.

Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, paid time off, professional-development opportunities, summer Friday hours, employee stipends, wellness programming and access to specialists across a global communications network.
